I Am Back

Sorry for no new projects in the last 2 weeks. I was on vacation - went to Panama and then on a cruise. Just got home this last few minutes so I don't have any photos or blurbs to share yet. Stay tuned tomorrow.

Ian's Birthday Card

Ian's 6th birthday is today and, with packing for vacation, I needed a quick and easy card to give him along with his completely boring Birthday gift of clothes and some seeds he and his dad can start and then move into grampa's greenhouse until time to plant in the yard. Supplies: Stampin Up! cardstock- Very Vanilla 6 1/4"X 8 1/2"", Very Vanilla 1 3/4" X 6", Very Vanilla 3" X 4 1/2", Very Vanilla 2" X 1 1/2"
Chocolate Chip 6 1/8" X 2", Choc. Chip 2 3/4" X 2 1/4"
Ink - Chocolate Chip and Really Red
Stamp Sets - Fox and Friends, Teeny Tiny Wishes and "Happy Birthday to You"
Chocolate Chip 1/4" wide ribbon - 15 "
2 Mini Brads - Chocolate Chip
Snail adhesive
Sponge
DSP Paper of your choice 4 1/8" X 6 1/8"
Big Shot and Nestabilities scalloped oval dies.
Fold largest cardstock to make a card 6 1/4" X 4 1/4". Adhere DSP to the card front. Using 1 3/4'" X 6" very vanilla, stamp the monkey 4 times across the cardstock with choc. chip ink. Tear along bottom edge and sponge this edge with choc. chip.
Tear bottom edge of choc. chip 2" X 6 1/8" piece. Adhere the very vanilla strip to this. Attach to front of card at top.
Tie ribbon in a knot around the bottom third of the card. You can hold in place with a bit of adhesive.
Using the 2nd smallest scalloped oval, cut with Big Shot out of Very Vanilla cardstock. Stamp "Just for You" using choc. chip and sponge edges as well. Cut choc. chip scalloped oval using 3rd smallest die and adhere behind very vanilla one. Pierce holes and insert 2 brads. Using dimensionals, glue to card front over ribbon.
Using largest scalloped oval and very vanilla cardstock, hut out. Stamp monkeys around edge by stamping off the paper and leaving only the heads on the oval using choc. chip. Sponge edges.
Stamp "Happy Birthday" in centre with Really Red.
Cut a strip of very vanilla cardstock 1" X 4 1/4". Score at 1", 2", 3" and 4". Fold. Glue 1/4" overlap to the square to create a base for the pop out section. Glue this on 2 sides right over seam of card inside. Carefully attach the "Happy Birthday" oval to this base so that you have a pop out section when the card is opened.
This is the simplest way to make a pop out card and, if you have never done this before, a good way to begin.

Peeps Treat Box

I just LOVE Peeps, the cute little Easter marshmallow candies. I love everything about them and think they make perfect Easter treats. So I decided to make a pretty box for them and I will give them to my Sunday Stampers as a little gift.

Supplies: Cardstock – Lavender Lace 9 ¾" X 5 ¾"
Lavender Lace to cut the flower (approx. 9" X 5")
Lavender Lace 2" X 11 ½"
Scrap of Whisper White 1 ¼" X 1 ¼"
DSP (I used Shades of Spring) – 8 7/8" X 4 7/8"
Stamp Set – Eggcoutrements
Ribbon 10" X 5/8"
Ink – Lavender Lace
Adhesives – Snail, Sticky Strip, Dimensionals, glue dots
Bone folder
Punches – 1" circle, Scalloped Edge
Crimper
Big Shot and Daisies #2 die

Score 9 ¾" X 5 ¾" Lavender Lace cardstock at 1 ½" all round. Diagonally score corners from point in to score intersection. Fold on all score lines.Using Sticky Strip, glue the corners to make the box bottom . Score DSP at 1" all round. Fold on all scores. As before, score corners from point to score intersections. Using Sticky Strip, glue ends together to make box lid. Lid is 1/8" bigger than box bottom.

Using Scalloped Edge punch, create a decorative edge along both long sides of 2" wide strip of Lavender Lace. Run through crimper. Wrap around completed box centre to get a proper length with a ½" overlap. Cut off excess if there is any. Using Snail, glue ribbon down centre of this strip. Run a strip of snail across overlap and attach to make a circle band for your box.

Cut out the Daisies #2 die twice with Big Shot using Lavender Lace cardstock. You have 2 of each size flower shape. Sponge edges of petals with Lavender lace ink. Layer and glue the flower shapes to create a fluffy daisy.( remember how I love these flowers).

Stamp Bunny from the Eggcoutrements set on Whisper White scrap using Lavender Lace ink. Punch out with 1" circle punch. Using dimensional, attach to flower centre.

This is a very pretty box. You can make it more whimsical by changing the colours and patterns and you may want to replace the flower with another embellishment.

Vintage Vogue Friends Card

I decided to create a "Springy" card using the Vintage Vogue stamp set. Using Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry gives a clean refreshing look to a very simple card which would work for several occasions.

Supplies: Cardstock –Crushed Curry 8 ½" X 5 ½"; Bermuda Bay 4" X 5 ¼", Bermuda Bay 2 ¼" X 1 7/8", 2 pce. 1" X 4"; Whisper White 2" X 1 5/8", 3 ¾" X 5", scrap about 1 ½"X 1 ½", 2 pce. ¾" X 3 ¾" Stamp Set – Vintage Vogue
Inks – Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry
Clear embossing powder
Ribbon – co-ordinate with the yellow or Bermuda Bay ( I did not have any Crushed Curry on hand so I found a scrap that was close)
Bermuda Bay coloured button, rafia
Snail adhesive and dimensionals, heat tool scissors

Fold 8 ½" Crushed Curry cardstock to make a 5 ½" X 4 ¼" card.
Stamp small flowers randomly on largest white cardstock using Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry ink.
Near bottom right corner of this piece, stamp a large flower with Crushed Curry.
Wrap ribbon around corners of this piece and secure in back ( like you were wrapping a present)
Adhere this segment to large Bermuda Bay cardstock and then glue the whole thing to the card front.
On 2" Whisper White cardstock, stamp "Friends" motif with Crushed Curry, emboss using clear embossing powder.
Adhere this to 2 ¼" piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock. Using dimensionals, place on card front.
On 1 ½" square of Whisper White, stamp a large flower with Crushed Curry, emboss, cut it out. Thread raffia through holes in button. Tie in a knot. Glue button to the cut-out flower centre. Adhere over large flower on card front using dimensional.
On each ¾" Whisper White piece, randomly stamp small flowers in Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay. Glue these pieces on the 1" X 4" Bermuda Bay cardstock. Adhere these at the top and bottom of card inside. Stamp ""You raise kindness to an art" in Bermuda Bay on card inside.
That's all there is to it, quick but cute.
All supplies are Stampin Up! You may purchase them through my Stampin Up website. See you soon.

Simple Flower Card

I don't know why but I find myself loving to put "fluffy" 3 dimensional flowers on my cards lately. This is doubly strange as I am not really a flower lover. For this card, I used a combination of Lavender Lace and Very Vanilla to create a simple, Springtime card. My friend, Lori is sending this as a "congratulations on your engagement" wish to a couple she knows. A simple change in sentiments and it would suit any occasion.

Supplies: (all Stampin Up! Except the button used as a flower centre) Cardstock –Elegant Eggplant (8 ½" X 5 ½")
Lavender lace to cut flower
Very Vanilla (4" X 4")
2 scraps 4" X 1" of Lavender Lace
Shades of Spring DSP 2 pieces each 4" X 1 ½", 1 piece 4" X 4"
Ink - Lavender Lace ;Clear embossing powder and heat tool
Adhesives (Snail and Dimensionals)
Stamp Sets – Bella's Bloom and Whimsical Words
Punches – corner rounder and Scallop Edge
Big Shot and Daisies #2 die, button with shank removed

Fold 8 1/2" X 5 ½" cardstock in half to make a 5 ½" X 4 ¼" card, round corners
Punch scallop edge on 4" X 1" cardstock pieces, sponge edges of lace.
Glue one of these to edge of 4"X4" DSP, then attach 1 ½" X 4" DSP to bottom of this so it looks like a lace edge in the card front between the two patterns. Round all four corners.
Glue this to card front.
Stamp "Time to Bloom" in bottom corner of card front. Emboss.
On inside of card, attach lace edge to Very Vanilla cardstock and then attach 4" X 1 ½" DSP as on card front.Round edges. Glue to inside of card. Stamp with sentiment. Emboss.
To make flower, run Daisies #2 die through Big Shot. Repeat with second piece. Sponge edges of all flower sections. Layer to make a "fluffy" flower. Glue white button in centre. Attach to card front with dimensionals.
This is a simple, quick card which will bring a bit of joy to whomever you give it to. Enjoy your day!
