Today's post is a card I created for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch challenge on Mary Jo Price-Williams' blog.
I used a brayer and Glossy White cardstock to ink the circle and then stamped the elephant and baby using a very old stamp I have had for years.
Part of the challenge was to use a new Stampin Up! product so I used the cayenne coloured cardstock as my background for the card. The body of the card is Barely Banana. I find myself with lots of BB cardstock left and, as it is retiring, I need to use it up.
I am so pleased with this card and hope you enjoy it as well.
Happy Stamping!

Monday, June 28, 2010
Hi everyone, I created this card for an Inkspirations Challenge. I found the challenge on Inkspirations by Makeesha. Check out her site.
You cannot tell very well from this picture but the colours I used are Blush Blossom and Chocolate Chip. The background paper is from the Brocade DSP collection. The stampset used is Wings of Friendship. All supplies are Stampin Up.
Here is A PDF DOCUMENT of this card if you would like the instructions and measurements.
Until then, Happy Stamping!

Monday MDS
Hooray! Today is MDS Monday! Every week I will post a new MDS page on Monday morning. In the few months since I have had My Digital Studio, I have found that I use it more and more.
For digital scrapbooking, a page goes together so quickly and it is so easy to edit and change details on the page that there is instant gratification.
For traditional scrapbooking, it is simple to design a layout before I put it together in real life.
For cardmaking, the digital cards are just as awesome as store bought cards and look very professional.
For card design, I often work out the basics on MDS so I have an idea of my layout before I start.
In short, MDS is an awesome tool! When I first purchased it, I did not know if I would use it very much. It has become indispensible to my papercrafting and I keep discovering more uses for MDS.
I hope you enjoy my Monday offerings and, if you have any technique questions, feel free to contact me at cherylsteve.robinson@sympatico.ca. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
In the meantime, Happy Stamping! to all, and remember, comments are always welcome.

Emboss Resist Challenge
Here is a card I made for a challenge on Cindy's Stamping Garden. Our task was to use the embossing resist technique to create a card. I chose to use a similar design to the tags I made for a tag challenge yesterday. The butterflies are vellum which I sponged and the flower is brown packing paper with the edges sponged with chocolate chip.
When I started, I had a hard time envisioning these colours together but I am sooooooo happy with the result.

Children's Gatefold Card
I made this card for a challenge for Cindy's Stamping Garden. I used wonderful striped DSP and did the entire project in red, barely banana and blue. The goal of the challenge was to use squares for the card front. I am very satisfied that I accomplished my task. And it was soooo much fun making this card. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Happy Stamping, everyone.
Happy Stamping, everyone.

Vintage Vogue Multi Fold
Here is the third of my email swap cards with Lynette. I used the Vintage Vogue and Whimsical Word stamp sets and Bermuda Bay and Whisper White were my colours of choice. If you check the second picture you will see how I folded my 3 1/2" X 10 1/2" cardstock.
This is a delicate little note card suitable for any occasion. Just jot a quick note inside, tie it up and it is ready to send to any dear friend. Change the greeting inside to suit any occasion.
This card is super quick so you could easily make a set and tie them up to give as a hostess gift or a really unique end of year gift for your child's favourite teacher.
All supplies are Stampin Up and can be purchased on my Stampin Up! website.
Happy Stamping everyone and have a great weekend.

Pumpkin Pie Floral Greeting
Here is the second of the three cards I made for the email card swap with Lynette. The card base is kraft with a background of pumpkin pie. The card front uses stayzon stamped on watercolour paper. I then coloured in the floral design with water colour pencils. I tore the edges and sponged them with pumpkin pie. Then, for the first time,I lightly spritzed the card front with Log Cabin Smooch Spritz to give it an antiquey kind of look. The stamp sets for this project were Elements of Style and Picnic Parade.
It is not very often that you see orange as the primary colour in a card but I am very happy with the result.
I really hope you enjoyed this card and are inspired to think outside the box next time you are in card-making mode.

COLOUR CHALLENGE # 1
It is time for my first colour challenge. Starting today, you have one week to come up with a project that includes the three colours shown in the picture above. Red, blue and yellow should be fairly easy to combine into a fun and happy project. A note, I am not picky which shade of each colour you use as long as all three are used. Next Saturday, June 19th, I will make my decision and the winner will receive a packet of stamping supplies from Stampin Up!. Just take a picture of your project and email it to me at cherylsteve.robinson@sympatico.ca. The more entries, the merrier and I will post as many as I can on my blog as they come in.
Now, a word about the picture of the gorilla which I have included in my post. Anyone who knows me is aware how much I love gorillas- especially mountain gorillas. So, I have decided to include photos of these gentle giants with each of my challenges which I hope to run at least every couple of weeks. I hope you do not mind.
Again, please enter my challenge; it should be a lot of fun. Happy Stamping and Good Luck!

Sweet Sensation
I met a fellow cardmaker, Lynette Irvine, on UStamp. We decided to do an on-line card swap. We each had to create 3 cards and send them via email to the other one. I finished mine today so I sent them off a few minutes ago. Over the next few days, I will post all three cards and PDF's of instructions. My first swap card is this cute little birthday card using the Sweet Scoops stamp set. I picked pink and green as the colours for the card since these colours remind me of sherbet and of summer. For a PDF of this card, click here. To purchase supplies, visit my Stampin Up! website.
Until next time, enjoy the lovely June weather and Happy Stamping !

Happy Birthday Friend Card
Hi, all! It has been a week since I last posted but I have been working so much I haven't had the time to have fun. With two days off, I am finally getting back to my stamping room.
I decided to use my Builder Wheel for the first time and I just love it. It is fun and easy to use. I can see many applications for its use.
Normally when I do a flower like the one on this card, I sponge the petals. Today, I lightly brushed them along the surface of a stamp pad. I feel that they look more like carnation petals this way and the ink on the edges is more intense. For a PDF click here.
Just a reminder that we are saying "Goodbye" to the old catalogue at the end of this month and a new one will be out July 1st. If there are any products you just can't live without, visit my Stampin Up! site and take a look at the "Last Chance List". Your order must be placed by June 30th to receive that merchandise. But, remember, if it is not on the Last Chance List , it will stay in our product lineup.
Well, I want to get back to stamping. I have ideas dancing in my head. Until tomorrow, enjoy your evening and Happy Stamping!

Tropical Flowers
Here is a quick page I made up for yet another challenge on UStamp. We were given a layout and had to come up with a page. I did this page with MDS (becoming my favourite toy). It is quick, easy and very versatile. These pastels are soooooooooo not my colours but bright colours would not have worked with the floral photos I chose.
Wishing all a wonderful day and Happy Scrapping!
P.S. We are starting a marathon sale at work so there may be no posts for a few days. I apologize in advance.

Tiny Notes
Here is another project I did for UStamp. Another colour challenge - Not Quite Navy, Old Olive and So Saffron. I created this little purse and made four of the itty-bitty note cards to go into it. The cards are 2 1/2" square, just the right size for jotting down a kind wish.
A note to my readers: The Last Chance Lists are up on my Stampin Up! website. All stamp sets on the list are available all month but the accessories are while supplies last. If you are considering ordering accessories, I suggest you do so through that site and not by calling me since b y the time I could place an order in the evening after work, the items could be sold out. I hope this is not an inconvenience for you.
Once again, have a great day and Happy Stamping.
