Let It Snow

Good afternoon!
Today's card is one I made for Crafting With Deedee's Digis Happy Monday Challenge.  It is a sketch challenge and I decided to use this snowman and only part of the sentiment which comes with it.  I used the complete snowman image which I cut out and then layered another image (snowman only) on top with dimensionals.  The oval is Whisper White which I sponged with Not Quite Navy and Brocade Blue on the top half only.  With a glue pen, I drew snow lines and sprinkled them with Dazzling Diamonds.  I punched  the sentiment out with the Word Window punch and then mounted it on a backing punched with the Modern label punch.  As a finishing touch, a thin red ribbon adds a pop of colour.  Hope you like it.

Wishing you and yours a great afternoon and evening.
Happy Stamping!

Hello,
Some of you may know that I have been a guest designer for UStamp with Dawn for the last two sessions.  I thought I would like to show you a wreath I made for UStamp With Dawn Get A Jump On Your Jingle.  You can find the instructions for it at the site I just mentioned.

I would like to thank Dawn for the opportunity to work with such amazing talents and for being so kind and gracious.

Have a great night!
And Happy Stamping!

Good evening!

Today I have a holiday candy holder which I made as an audition for a design team I am interested in.  Since my grandson's favourite things are a hockey stick and puck, I decided to use that theme for this project.  I used his team colours for the jersey that the hockey player is wearing.  The test tube was part of a bulk buy programme I participate in.

After I finished this, I thought it may be a cute idea for the members of Jordan's team.  I guess I better start now since I have to make 20 altogether.  Good luck to me!

Keep your fingers crossed that they like my project AND that I finish the 20 in time. LOL

Happy Stamping!

Snowmen 411

Hi everyone!  I am a little late this evening but I hope you don't mind.
Today I have a card I did for the Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge this week.  My card is all about glimmer.  The band on the centre and the background behind the penguins is red metal run through the Big Shot with a snowflake embossing folder.  The DSP is from the Holiday mini (the red stripes are sparkly).  I wrapped a shimmery green ribbon around, tied a knot and attached two jingle bells.  The penguin JOY stamp is from an old set (1999) which I love very much!!  It is one of those stamps that wiggles its way into your heart and makes a home there.

I apologize for the photo quality but all that shine was causing a bit of a problem.  I do hope you can get the effect though.

Wishing you a great evening and Happy Stamping!

Unscripted Snowman

Good snowy morning!  We had our first snow storm yesterday so we are all wintery and white today.
So my snowman is more than appropriate this morning.

This card is my example for the Unscripted Sketches Challenge #83.  I recently received a shipment of coloured metal sheets and, since I love metal on cards, decided to  run a piece through the Big Shot with a snowflake embossing folder to create the background for my little guy.  The paper is DSP from Stampin Up and  Happy Holidays is from an SU stampset from 1999 I believe.  The snowman is from Cottage Cutz.

I really would like to encourage you to visit Unscripted Sketches and take a look at the examples from the entire Design Team.  These ladies are soooooooo talented and every week I marvel at how awesome my teammates' work is.  I am sure you will be inspired to create something the moment you see their offerings,

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day.
Happy Stamping!

Just Add Poinsettias

Hi all!  It is a very blustery Friday in Sault Ste. Marie.  What better to do on a snowy day than stamp.  Wow!  I have completed two projects today.

This card is for the Just Add Ink Challenge #45 - a sketch challenge.  As you see, this is a relatively simple sketch which I am sure I will use over and over again.

I used the Bells and Bows stamp set - a lovely set but one I have hardly touched (hope to remedy that).  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  To make the poinsettias, I stamped the image three times, cut the flowers out and then glued them, layer upon layer on the original stamped image.  Colours for the project are Old Olive, Basic Black and Cherry Cobbler.  I am very happy with the result and all I have to do now is add a sentiment to the inside, write a brief message and then pop it into the post.

Hope your day is productive and fun!
Happy Stamping!

Christmas Moose

Hi and Happy Thanksgiving to my American viewers.  If you are not from the US, then Happy Thursday!
I decided to do this card for the Creative Sketches Challenge this week.  I love moose and this little guy is just so adorable I just had to use him.  I coloured him with Stampin Pastels and Stampin Markers. I like how the softness of the moose is contrasted by the bright scarf and lights. I sponged all the edges to soften them.  The red paper was run throught the Big Shot with the Perfect Dots embossong folder and the decorative edging around the watercolour paper is also a Sizzix Die.  The wording around the edge was an afterthought.  The card just looked too bare without it.
I hope your day is going well and that you have some time for stamping or another craft of your choice.
See you tomorrow.
Happy stamping!

Letterpress Experiment

Hi, long time -no see.  It seems I am apologizing a lot lately for neglecting my blog but I have had a hard time keeping up with everything.  Our holiday schedule at work is playing havok with my stamping life.  I sure hope it settles down soon.

I did manage to get some stamping in today and made this card using one of the letterpress dies in the Holiday mini.  This is the first time I used the letterpress and it took a couple of tries to get it right.  I will say that watching the video on the SU site really helped.  Next time I am going to try more than one colour on the die.  Cross your fingers.  Just a hint:  Use watercolour paper and craft ink because that really does work best.

I created this card for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #149 on Mary Jo Price Williams' blog.
I flipped the sketch over since I needed to adjust the balance of the card.  The gold snowflakes are brads I picked up about 5 years ago (I found a rather large package of 500 but just could not pass them up.  I may be using them for years to come. LOL).  This is a very simple card but I wanted to showcase the letterpress image and the best way was to keep it uncluttered.  The DSP is also from the mini and the cardstock is Real Red.

I hope you like this card and I promise to get back to daily posting.
Until later, Happy Stamping!

Unscripted Santa

Good morning!

Today I have a very traditional Christmas card created as my example for the Unscripted Sketches Challenge #82.  I struggled with the sketch - must have stared at it for three hours before I figured out what I wanted to do - and in the end decided an old fashioned Christmas would work.

All of the examples from the design team are just stunning this week and I encourage everyone to visit Unscripted Sketches to see them and who knows, you may even want to try our challenge.  Let me add that I am hoonoured to be in the company of these amazing artists and very pleased to be associated with Unscripted Sketches.
Wishing all a great weekend and Happy Stamping!

I Am Waiting!

Quick note to say that I have not heard from my prize winners yet.  Please ladies (Sandybeaches and Cheryl Letner) email me so that I can get your addresses and send you your prizes.

Dimensional Santa

Hi again!

Today I have a card - and the instructions- that I made for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge #139.
This Santa is from The Jolliest Time of the Year, a stamp set  composed of line drawings ready for colouring.  I made him pop out by using dimensionals and two images sandwiched on top of one another.  This is such a happy card and the santa makes me smile.
I have included a PDF instruction sheet so that you can make it if you want.  I have  included photos of the various steps with the instructions.  Hope you enjoy!
Happy Stamping!

A Puppy Christmas

Good evening!

Here is a card I  made for The Pink Elephant Challenge #88 this week.  To me, blue and silver are a perfect combination for a snowflake card.  And I love the snowflake punch I used for the border.  I am quite pleased with myself as I managed to make this card all out of scraps (although it did not make a dent in my paper bin).
I don't know where I got the silver ribbon but I sure hope I find some more.
I am going to send this card to my friend Kristen's new puppy.  She is so happy with her new baby and I  think she deserves a Christmas card as well.

Sleep well and Happy Stamping!

Ten Minutes Til Draw Time!

Just a quick note--- there are ten minutes until I draw for the blog anniversary prizes.!

Lunchtime Trees

Hi, Happy Tuesday!

I have a card I made for this week's Technostamper Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #148 .  I chose Night of navy and Whisper White for this project.  I stamped the trees (Lovely As A Tree) on Glossy White cardstock and then sponged Night of Navy and Brocade Blue around them.  To add some glitz, I randomly outlined with all purpose glue and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds on the trees and grass lines.  It is hard to see the ribbon but I decided to use a glimmery gossimer one for the two tails.  To add texture, I ran the white background cardstock through my Big Shot with the lattice embossing folder.

This is a very simple but elegant Christmas card and I am very happy with it.
Happy Stamping! and Thanks for Stopping By!

Sliding Snowman

Hi!

Today i have a card that is just plain fun!  I made this card for the Stamping411 Sketch Challenge #177 this week.  Let me start by saying this is a rather loose interpretation of the sketch but I think it sort of fits the general example.

I used a stamp set from another manufacturer for the snowman but I just LOVE him so much that I had to - lets say I was "snowed over".  The greeting is a very old Stampin Up! stamp that I got somewhere - do not even remember where.  This card came together very quickly and, although it is simple, is a really cute and happy holiday card.  I hope you like it too!

Happy Stamping!

Unscripted Calendar

Good morning!
It is Saturday and that means it is time for another Unscripted Sketches Sketch Challenge.  This week it is challenge #81.  For my example, I created a desk calendar for a friend who received a small disappointment and I thought I would cheer her up.
My calendar uses the stamp set French Foliage and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The three leaves in the corner are buttons I found years ago and saved until the right time.  As you may have guessed from following my posts, I am a sucker for unusual buttons and have quite a stash.  The calendar was purchased as part of a bulk buy programme I belong to so it cost just pennies and I bought a lot.  So look for more uses to come!

I really hope you will visit Unscripted Sketches and take a look at the amazing examples from the rest of the design team members.  You may even want to participate in the challenge this week.  For sure you will want to visit the blogs of these awesomely talented ladies.

I want to thank you for stopping by today and hope your Saturday is fun!
Happy Stamping!

Funky Friday Christmas

Hello again!

It's Funky Friday!  Woohoo!  I missed Funky Friday last week and I apologize for that.

This week our theme is Christmas so I decided to make a gift box and matching tag set.  For the box I used my Big Shot and the Fancy Favor die.  The stamp set is  The Jolliest Time of the Year (which I seem to use a lot) ,  The box and tag are Kraft (you could use Crumb Cake but I have some Kraft left) and the scalloped oval is Cherry Cobbler.  I stamped tiny snowflakes from Snow Buddies all over the project with Whisper White and sponged all the edges in Soft Suede.  To finish it off, I wrapped a ribbon around the body of the box and glued it behind the snowman medallion.

I encourage everyone to visit the Funky Friday Craft Challenge and view the examples by all of us on the design team.  You may even want to give our challenge a try.  Everyone has a Christmas project just waiting to come out so you might as well let the rest of us see it.  Who knows?  You may even earn this badge.

I want to thank you for visiting today and hope you have an awesome Funky Friday!
Happy Stamping!

Eat, Sleep Stamp Penguins

Good Afternoon,

I hope you are enjoying your day.  It is lovely here and above average temperature.  Hard to believe it is November.

Today I have a card I made for the Eat, Sleep, Stamp Sketch Challenge #108.  To make this card, I pulled out a very old stamp set (I do not even know how old or the name.  I bought it at a yard sale.)  I just love the three little penguins!  The DSP is from the Holiday mini and the punch is from EK Success.  I found the white snowflake buttons several years ago and originally bought them to sew on a sweater.  Needless to say, I did not use them for the sweater but they do suit this card perfectly.

This card was so much fun to make and I hope you get a smile from it.
Happy Stamping!
