Try Stampin' Easter Bunny

Hello everyone!  It is Tuesday so that means it is Try Stampin' On Tuesday challenge day again.

Here is my example for this week.  I used the Bunny stamp from last year's mini, stamped it with Versa on Chocolate Chip and then embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Cut it out and added a ribbon.  Colours of DSP and cardstock are Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz.

Normally I have a bit of difficulty with Easter cards - pastels are not my thing.  But my friend, Kristen, seems to be a bad influence on me (or good, take your pick).  She has managed (and I do not know how) to get me to incorporate softer colours in my designs. Kudos to her.

Hope your day is great.  Mine wioll be full of laundry and cleaning. UGH!!!!
Until later, Happy Stamping!

Unscripted Thankyou Card

Hi again.  here is my second post for this Saturday.  Every other week, I have two DT samples due at the same time.  This week, after getting home from vacation, being very sick, having mounds of laundry and catch-up, I was called for extra hours at work.  Now, if you work on commission, you know how it goes,  If you do not work, you don't make any money!  So I took the hours.

As a result, I ran out of crafting time.  My solution - MDS.  I took the computer to work and came up with this digital card as my example for theUnscripted Sketches challenge this week.  Every once in awhile, I really enjoy using MDS and playing with its possibilities.  I find it helps me in my non-digital crafting as well.  it is so easy to try an idea and, if it does not work, make amendments.  I sometimes draft the prototype with MDS and I do all my sketches for my challenge site on it.

Please visit Unscripted Sketches this week and peruse the inspirations from the other talented ladies on the team.  You may want to enter the challenge.  Sarah's sketches are always amazing and the examples from the team are varied and unique.  I encourage you to visit us.

Until later,
Happy Stamping!

Sweet Rainy Day

Hello, it is Saturday, and that means there is a new Sweet Stampin Challenge.  This week the theme is WEATHER! very appropriate for this time of year.  I have to admit that I really struggled with this one.  I had this paper for a long time and had no opportunity to use it.  So when this week's theme came up, I knew I would use it.  Unfortunately, I had a hard time finding anything to go with it.  As a result, I spent more time thinking than doing and I am not very happy with this card.

But, I must say, all the other DT samples are awesome and once you check out Sweet Stampin I am sure you will agree that this pales by comparison.  Occasionally a situation like this arises and we can only deal with it and go on to the next creative challenge.  Please check the other inspirations at Sweet Stampin and possibly create your own "weather" entry for our challenge.

Enjoy your day and happy stamping!

Try Stampin' #7

Hi, sorry I am late with this post but since I got back from vacation I have been ill yet again.  I went to the doctor today and was told that I have not only one, but two, allergies - a severe one to some insect bites (my body is a mass of bumps I thought were a rash - silly me.  Add to that the fact that he told me I have an allergy to the anti-allergy medicine (LOL) I was taking and you have a sick puppy.  I seem to be on the mend so I am trying to get caught up.  I was so out of it the other night when I did the Try Stampin' On Tuesday post that I forgot to include my own card and did not even realize it until this morning.  Better late than never!!

My example for this week's sketch  uses two stamp sets - Watercolor Trio (sentiment) and Silhouette Sentiments (image) and paper from the Icecream Parlour pack. For the background of the image, I Versa Marked a piece of cardstock and then daubed Stampin' Pastels on it and blended them in.

Please visit Try Stampin' On Tuesday .  You will see amazing exmples from our Stampin' Friends and I am sure you will be inspired to try our challenge.  We will greatly appreciate it if you do.

Thanks for stopping by and.......
Happy Stamping!

Fish! Fish! Fish

Good morning from Roatan!

It is my last day here and it is also Unscripted Sketches  day.  Since I brought no stamping supplies with me, I decided to do a digital scrapbook page using MDS as my example this week.  I used some of the pictures that I took with my camera while snorkelling to make my page.  This was a piggyback challenge and I am pretty sure I came close to using the required colours (grey, green, turquoisy-blue and light grey).  To create the desired effect, I layered picures on pictures and changed the opacity of some.

Please visit Unscripted Sketches  this week.  You will love the inspirations the DT have come up with and you will be spurred on to try our sketch.

Happy Stamping!

Try Stampin' #6

Hi to everyone!  I am sorry I am just posting this now but last night they were shutting down the restaurant which is my only internet source here in Roatan.  This card is my example for the challenge
at Try Stampin' On Tuesday this week.  This is my very first attempt at watercolour and I am quite happy with the results.  The centre section of the flower is done on vellum and then cut out.  So that the colours would not run too much, I embossed the flower with Versamark and then gold embossing powder.  The vase is a Christmas ornament stamped and then the bottom cut off.  This card is quite a departure for me but I am pretty happy with the first attempt.

I invite you all to visit Try Stampin' to see the inspirations completed by the other ladies - Kristen, Sandi, Tracey and Tanya.  Please also, feel free to give our sketch a try.

Until later from sunny Roatan,
Happy Stamping!

Toto's Sweet Basket

This may not be the best picture, but I am using this basket as my example for the Sweet Stampin' Challenge this week.  Our challenge was to use inspiration from a favourite movie.  One of my faves is The Wizard of Oz.  In the movie, Dorothy carried Toto in a little basket.  So I am using this basket to represent her's.  The main body is chocolate chip and the flowers are crumbcake and pink.  The stitching is stolen from a basket I used to make as a small girl for putting Christmas cards in.  Each year, my gramma and I would make a new basket from the cards we got the previous year.

The Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog is a fun, happy site with different kinds of challenges each week.  Please check us out and possibly participate in a challenge.  There are prizes to be won and wonderful examples to see.

Thanks again for stopping by.... Happy Stamping!

Unscripted Easter Wishes

Good day!  Here is an Easter card I made as my example for this week's sketch challenge at Unscripted Sketches.  I found this sketch particularly difficult to do - and I don't know why.  I thought for days about it and then finally came up with this card.

This is a very strange offering for me.  I used pink, yellow and turquoise (which I never use) and made a very feminine Easter card.  I wanted to use this stamp set and  I think it works with these typical "springy" colours.  i really love the image of the little girl skipping along with the basket and flowers.  And in the end I am happy with the results.  Please check out the examples by all the designers and give our sketch a try.

I would like to mention that we have a call out for new Design Team members at Unscripted Sketches.  This is a very talented group of ladies and, if you would like to be considered, just visit the site and follow the instructions.  Who knows, our next designer may be you.

Thanks so much for visiting and......
Happy Stamping!

Try Stampin' #5

Hi, everyone!

This morning I have a card I made for the sketch challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  I used the medallion stamp ( which I dig out from time to time) and only one colour - Concord Crush.  After stamping the image I cut the square 4 1/2" X 4 1/2" and then into 1 1/2" squares.  I glued these on a solid 4 7/8" square of cardstock with small borders around.  The centre is pierced and a brad inserted.  This whole section is then adhered to DSP and then to a Concord 5 1/2" X 6" card.  The wish is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped on white and then sponged.

I hope you will visit Try Stampin' On Tuesday to see the beautiful cards the design team came up with.  Please give the challenge a try if you want.

Until later,
Happy Stamping!

Crazy Travel Journal

Hi, it has been a few days.  I was having issues with my mail server so my Saturday post never did go out.  After two hours with Bell chat I think it is all fixed.

Today I have a travel journal I made for the StampitCrazy challenge this week.  Our task was black, brown, white and a red ribbon.  The sketch is a StampitCrazy design and I used my Bind It All to put the journal together.  I love these colours together and although the theme was "Vintage", something I am not very good at, I think I captured the idea.

All papers and the stamp, brads and ribbon are Stampin' Up! out of my neverending stash.

Please visit StampitCrazy to see the examples from the other talented members of our team and to give the challenge a try.
Until tomorrow,
Happy Stamping!

Try Stampin' #4

Good morning to all!

Today I have a card  that I made as my DT example for the Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch challenge this week.

I love this card!  Especially the background.  I used a technique I learned at Andrea Walford's site. You apply two colours of ink to a piece of waxed paper, spritz with water and then smoosh your cardstock in it.  Dry with a heat gun and then reapply until you are happy with the results.  I used Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point.  The stamp set is Just Believe.

This project reminds me that spring is just around the corner.  Winter is great but it has been here long enough.

I hope you will check out Try Stampin' On Tuesday to see the awesome cards done by my Stampin' Friends.  Who knows - you may want to give the sketch a try!

Until later,
Happy Stamping!
