Good afternoon!
I have a card today for the challenge at SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY. There are some things I love about this card and others not so much. But that is what crafting is all about - learning from your mistakes.
I like the simplicity of this sketch and all the possibilities it has.
And I basically like my card as well. In person, you do not see the shading lines as clearly as you do in the photo (which is so much better than it looks). I did the entire card in green (duh). All the stamping is Old Olive and the paper is pear Pizzaz. In retrospect, I should have shaded in the Pear ink as well.
I used papers from a 6X6" pack and simply ripped them up and glued them on white card stock, sponged the edges and rubbed the seams with my finger to blend. The image is from Lovely As A Tree and the word is from an old set ( do not even know the name). Lastly I attached three little buttons and that is it. Other than drying time, this card was super quick.
Hope you visit http://sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.ca/ and possibly give their challenge a try.
Happy Stamping!

If it wasn't for our mistakes there would be no learning! I think what you think are mistakes are just great. I love the simplicity of the sketch as well. Mistakes aside I love everything about this card.
ReplyDeleteA great take on the sketch. Despite your supposed mistakes I quite like your card. The willingness to take risks is admirable. Thanks for joining us at SFF this week.

ReplyDeleteCherylAnn, what a stunning card! I LOVE it! and thank you for being honest about some of the process we all go thru (paper crafters). We all make mistakes, or techniques don't always go right. but, if we embrace the process, we learn from them. And it gives us a platform to create something fabulous. Like this card! LOVE IT! and I imagine that it looks even better IRL!
ReplyDeleteThank you for playing along with us @ SFF.
I think it turned out pretty darn great myself! Monochromatic cards are hard for me. I always want to put a contrasting color on it. But your card is a perfect example of why to keep along the same color line. Thank you for joining us over at Sketch Frenzy Friday. I always enjoy your creations CherylAnn.
ReplyDeleteGreat card CA! Love the monochromatic look. I don't use that image much but you did a great job showcasing it. Thanks for playing with us this week at Sketch Frenzy Friday.
