It has been a few days since I last posted and I apologize for that. But today I have my example card for the sketch at TRY STAMPIN' ON TUESDAY. Our sketch is a basic one with lots of possibilities. For my card, I decided to use an old cereal box as the card base.
I mod podged an old pattern piece to it to create the background. Then I used stamps, stencils from found items, paint, sprays and modeling paste to create pattern and texture. I ripped the pattern off the cereal cardboard to give a soft, tattered edge. For the images, I stamped everything on old book pages. Both stamp sets I used are discontinued.
I like how this card turned out but I wish that I had a softer butterfly image to use which was small enough. I had the perfect one but it was just too big.
I hope you enjoy the serenity of this card and that you may give some different techniques a try as well.
Thanks for visiting and please check out TRY STAMPIN' ON TUESDAY. You will be happy you did.
You made this look so easy! Great use of the recycle items.
ReplyDeleteI CherylAnn! This is beautiful! I LOVE your artsy style--and your stamped image on top of the "old book" page is amazing!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi, not I...lol!
DeleteGreat card as usual CherylAnn. As usual you were thinking "outside the box" - pardon the pun. Great use of recycled materials.
ReplyDeleteAm totally in love with using that text background! It just sets the stage for something wonderful as far as I am concerned! Gorgeous card!
