Today I have my example for the sketch challenge at UNSCRIPTED SKETCHES - and the sketch has a piggy back (to use an animal in the design). I continued my Art Journal and modified the sketch - quite a bit, I am afraid - to suit my thoughts.
I had been thinking about my kids and our relationships and decided this elephant stamp suited the theme I had in mind. I did not want to put it in a square like the sketch so I dug through my stash and found this old wooden heart. I painted it and stamped the image in Stazon and then decoupaged it to the background. I am not sure why I added the column of blue circles but I thought they tied to the heart pretty well. The words are just printed using a word processing program and then cut out and glued on. I did this because I am having a hard time finding a doodling pen I like.
As I said, I took a great deal of liberty with the sketch (the flower represents the vertical band). Please visit UNSCRIPTED SKETCHES to check out the other designers' examples and to participate in our Christmas in July celebration.
There is still time to get in on the fun!!
