Unscripted Sketches #170

Good Saturday morning!
Hope everyone is enjoying the Olympics.  Aren't they exciting?
My card today is my example for the challenge at UNSCRIPTED SKETCHES this week.  Our sketch involved paper tearing - something I don't seem to do very often (except in art journalling).  So I decided to do a little bit extra tearing - very therapeutic.
I made the flower by paper tearing as well.
I used both patterned paper and book paper for this card.  The DP is from Seven Gypsies (I think).  I used SU More Mustard card stock as the background and then attached the patterned paper (5.25"X2.75") Then I tore a piece of book paper (5.25"X2.75") and then lightly sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink.  I added the black ribbon and then made my flower.  I simply tore thin strips from the patterned paper and then glued them together in a flower shape and then added the pumpkin pie button.  I really like how the torn paper flower adds texture to this card.
UNSCRIPTED SKETCHES is a great sketch challenge site and I hope you pop over to see the examples from the team and possibly enter our challenge.
Thanks for visiting1

  2. Great one-of-a-kind card, Cheryl Ann! When I first looked at the card, I just assumed that you had torn the patterned paper and was surprised to find that you had torn the test paper. On close examination, I love that look, and will definitely try it. You mentioned art journaling...something I am just beginning and love. Do you have a separate art journaling blog?
